Venerable Lhundrup Teaching at HBC – July 2017

Ven Lhundrup, an Australian-born monk from the FPMT Monastery in Bendigo, will be teaching during two periods in July. (Booking form appears below)

Fri 7 July 7.30pm Introduction to Buddhist Meditation
How and why do we meditate? Venerable Lhundrup will explain and lead you through basic meditations that can be used every day. Suitable for new or experienced students.

One-Day Meditation Intensive (BYO Lunch TO SHARE)
This is a rare opportunity to take time out from the rush of everyday life, sit down, relax and examine your mind in accordance with Buddhist principles in a controlled environment. Suitable for new or experienced students.

Mon 24 July 7.30pm Starting Out in Buddhism
Learn the basics of Buddhism and how they can help make you a calmer, kinder person with a greater appreciation of life. Suitable for new students or more experienced students wanting a refresher.

Wed 26 July 12.30pm A Taste of Buddhism: Drop in Class
Not much time? Looking for a quick Buddhist fix? This is the class for you presenting Buddhist ideas with some hands-on practice.

Wed 26 July 7.30pm After the Basics What?
– The Three Principles of the Buddhist Path

The Buddhist path starts with renunciation meaning we don’t get too emotionally caught up in our attachments. It leads to Bodhicitta – the great altruistic thought to help others – and Emptiness – the powerful concept of dependent arising. Suitable for new or experienced students.

Thu 27 July 7.30pm Shakyamuni Buddha Puja
(Holy Day – 1st Turning of the Wheel)

Traditional ceremony acknowledging the Buddhas life and deeds.
Offerings of food/flowers welcome
