Sat 21 Dec 2019 Lama Tsongkhapa Day
600th Anniversary of Lama Tsongkhapa’s Parinirvana (Death)
Lama Tsongkhapa Day, or Ganden Ngamchoe, is a celebration of the anniversary of Lama Tsongkhapa’s parinirvana. Lama Tsong Khapa started our Ganden school of Tibetan Buddhism. Our centre follows the Ganden Tradition.
What relevance can the teachings of a yogi, scholar and saint who died in Tibet 600 years ago have in your life today? Plenty, according to Buddhism. Lama Tsongkhapa’s clear and precise teachings are said to be particularly effective for the minds of the people of today in an age of the five degenerations.

Special Blessings as part of our celebrations. Come and be blessed by water from the holy Mount Kailash and the sacred Lake Manasarovar, as well as a tsa tsa made with remnants of Je Rinpoche’s original tsa tsas. Circumambulate the gompa as we will have stones from Mt Kailash, Lake Manasarovar and the cave area where Lama Tsongkhapa saw Yamantaka.
