Friday 5th to Sunday 7th July 2019

English-speaking Geshe Zopa studied at the Tibetan Monasteries of Kopan and Sera in Nepal and India respectively after being ordained at 12. He is a visiting teacher at FPMT Buddhist Centres, understands the complexities of living in the West, and offers advice and teachings to help solve modern issues. He was recently awarded the World Peace Congress Prize in India. Geshe Zopa lived in Perth for a few years guiding the spiritual development of Phuntsok Rinpoche, a reincarnation of his teacher, a famed and accomplished meditator, Geshe Lama Konchog. The film “Unmistaken Child” documents his 5-year search for his teacher.

Come and listen to an authentic and enthusiastic teacher in the tradition of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

TEACHINGS

  • Three Scopes of the Path (over 2 nights): Suitable for new and experienced students

Helping Yourself – Thursday 28 March, 7:30 – 9pm

The main practice at the beginning is maintaining ethical conduct or avoiding negative actions of the body, speech and mind based on understanding karma – the law of cause and effect. The mental and emotional afflictions that lie at the root of our suffering are the main factors that need to be overcome in the second scope.

Helping Others – Friday 29 March, 7:30 – 9pm

The third scope changes the focus from self to others through the six paramitas – generosity, morality, patience, enthusiastic perseverance, concentration and wisdom.

We encourage you to attend both sessions but you can also book each session separately.

Cost per session: $25 ($20 Members)

painful, all phenomena are empty, and that nirvana is beyond extremes.

Please bring a veg lunch to share.

Cost: $60 ($50 Members)
