Wheel of Life – Palliative Care Support Group
Wheel of Life: Program for 2015
The Wheel of Life Palliative Care Support Group will run a series of Workshops in 2015 designed to help you prepare for your own death and to help others who are dying. Funerals, loss & grief are also covered. The afternoon is a mix of short presentations, meditations and discussion, both in small break-out groups and as one large group. A delicious afternoon tea is served. There is no charge but your donation would be most appreciated and helpful.
Wheel of Life also helps run a Combined Practice of Medicine Buddha and Prayers for the Deceased, also on a Saturday afternoon. Special prayers are said for those who have died in the last 49 days as part of the powerful Medicine Buddha puja. You may want to sponsor the practice, as a way of showing your support for a loved one.

The Top Five Regrets of the Dying
2pm Saturday 21 November 2015
In this workshop we look at “The Top Five Regrets of the Dying” based on the book by Bronnie Ware, a palliative care nurse. Although based on her own experience, rather than broad research, this book struck a chord, judging by its instant popularity. This delightful memoir has been described as “a courageous, life-changing book which gives hope for a better world.”
We plan to look at these regrets in the light of our own lives and experience in the hope that we can live our forthcoming years without regret.
We look forward to seeing you there. Our famous afternoon tea will be there too!

A Pure Land is Coming:
End-of-Life Spiritual Care in a Peaceful and Virtuous Environment
7.30pm Friday 27 November 2015
The Pure Land of the Indestructible Buddha is on track to become an incorporated association by June 2016. On Friday evening 27 November, Ben Russell, Anita Field and Len Warren will present an update on recent progress.
First, though, Geshe Sonam has kindly offered to give oral transmissions of several powerful mantras for the time of death. This is especially relevant to caring for a dying person, when we often say mantras for or with them. As Geshe-la explained recently, the mantra is more effective if you have had the oral transmission.
Please be there by 7:30 pm to receive the oral transmissions (about 20 minutes). The Pure Land presentation will follow. Refreshments will be available before and after the presentation.
